Beverly has a BS in Social Work from West Texas State University (now Texas A & M, 1984) and a MA in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State University, 1990. She is in her 10th year as an elementary school counselor in Las Cruces, NM. Prior to that, Beverly was a stay-at-home mom for 8 years, was a Director of a non-profit agency for seniors, a long-term care regional Ombudsman, Social Services Director for a nursing home, and a counselor at a group home for teens. In addition, she has worked at Mesilla Valley Hospice, as a counselor at Nutri-System in Roswell, and as a Social Work consultant in a nursing home in T or C.
Beverly became a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in 2012. She is currently a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), NMCA, and NMSCA where she has served on the Board as Membership Chair for the past year. Beverly began her own part-time counseling business in Las Cruces last year.
Beverly is married to Thomas, a Systems Engineer at WSMR, and has 3 children, ages 15, 20, and 23.
